I have been discovering the joys of sharing music - playing instruments, singing with/to others, humming - all these wonderful ways of communicating without always using sensible words, with & without text, without computer. I need the break from electronics sometimes.And I love feeling the differences between knowing some music by heart/from memory and READING notes on a page & being able to play anything together cuz we both can & do read music. And there are the differences - the ways of getting lost in the physicalness of knowing the music on my instrument, or getting lost in the little black marks on page that somehow I am not really READING but more using as a guide, skimming along seeing and not seeing.
And I am fascinated with how I can just follow my fingers, my hands & they do it all, feel I'm just an innocent joyful bystander. Yes musical life is mighty fine - and soon will learn how to add in sound to this wee blog.
